Esther’s Movie

Esther Brandt hadn't told her story for most of her life...especially the part about how she was a World War II child orphan hunted by the Nazis.

But she somehow survived and went on to have a joyous and productive life with Auschwitz survivor Larry Brandt. For more than three decades the two headed up Marjorie Hamilton, a Vancouver-based clothing manufacturing business. They raised children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Unfortunately Larry passed away in 2003.

In 2024, Esther told her and Larry's story to family historian Cory Bretz. Combined with her photos and interviews with friends, colleagues and family members, this film is a rich collection of hard earned life wisdom and hope.

Esther passed away on January 7, 2025.

Esther, I'm glad I got to meet you and help you tell your story.
